I sadly understood this with a friend while 2manning the encounter:
IF you ever get to a 4th phase you will wipe no matter what, it just doesn't let you complete the encounter.
I sincerely hope it's a bug since it doesn't make any sense.

Interesting seeing gladd getting around to it. I actually did this maybe during the 4th week. Never posted the video but I have it, once I understood what I was doing it took me 2 days to get that perfect run. I'm sure you guys could do it too, I mean I'm hella average so I'm sure anyone with some determination could manage… The light side fuses are a bit of a problem, you need to be in just the right spot every time, or it can screw your whole run. Warlock is a pretty good option, try chaos reach if you hate the RNG aspect (which is how I beat it, but yes a lot of luck is still required in the encounter, enemy/ fuse spawns can kinda make or break a run as well) if you wanna simply try your luck you can run a dawnblade and the nades you throw at the scanner vandal will do him in… So you won't have to worry about aiming your bastion while he scampers about trying to dodge you. Not sure if this was much help, but good luck to whomever wants to try this. Beat the encounter in 3 phases or less! I can't stress it enough, if you go for 4th phase you WILL DIE, no exceptions…
