It's Time For Weapons 2.0 – Here's How Loot Can Evolve | Destiny 2 Beyond Light

Read more about Destiny 2 ➜ https://destiny2.mgn.tv

Since the launch of Destiny 2 Forsaken, the status of weapon rarity, systems, and mods have been relatively unchanged. On the other hand, during the past few years, we have seen a massive amount of innovation from Bungie on the design of armor, with the launch of “Armor 2.0” during Shadowkeep, with continual updates and tweaks to this day. In comparison, weapons are in a very bland spot and have remained stagnant for years. I believe it’s time to innovate on the rarity and structure of weapons, in a similar vein to how armor was revitalized with “Armor 2.0”. I would dub this evolution of weapons as “Weapons 2.0”, and this would include updates to rare, legendary, and exotic weapons, as well as add two new tiers of weapons: pinnacles and adepts. In this video, I lay out how this new weapon ecosystem would work, with an emphasis on how this new system would improve player agency and help to mitigate the effects of Sunsetting. Let’s get to it!

  1. Dude, you make it to much clear, logical and straight forward. Bungie will never do that.
I really like how you think the new rare tier.
My only concern is actually the color of the adept engram !

  2. For the next few years of destiny, you will rise to be on the "the greats" in the terms of d2 youtubers.

Super great work man, my one thing would be changing the colors of the weapons. So rare weapons would become white, legendary weapons would become green, pinnacle weapons would become purple, and adept weapons would become red. I think it would emphasize the power escalation of each tier of loot and make our inventories a bit more colorful instead of just purple and yellow.

  3. Great video yet again Buj! love the pinnacle weapons idea ive always felt that a raid should be special by loot standard as well not just selective aesthetic on said loot. Also please dear god Bungo give anarchy a catalyst even after you do these exotic changes

  4. while i get why you would have the cost for changing the element on weapons high i think that's WAY TO HIGH I barely have 10 at any given time, not even enough to master work a weapon, and i can imagen that about 80% of the current players would agree with me and are in the same boat. But when it comes to everything else i do agree with you.

  5. Bungie is slowly killing off the game. It's simple as that. Beyond Light was small. Vault of Glass is coming from D1. In 2-3 years their new game Matter will be their primary focus. That is why there are many issues with the core playlists that have been unaddressed and not fixed/improved for such a long time as well as why there is no reception of community feedback in their decision making. Frankly, I don't care about investing future projects if that is how Bungie treats their current project

  6. honestly kujay all your suggestions would definitely be welcomed if bungie took even a couple of your ideas to improve the weapons as well as creating extra variant's alas the adept versions of pinnacle weapons to make the chase for them all the more worth while.

  7. 3 things

Legendary have more "identities" that Bungie should continue with. You have ritual weapons, for completing 1of3 quests that have unique curated rolls; playlist weapons, which have a shit-tonne of random perks incentivizing long term grinds; seasonal weapons, with new standard perks that make their way into the general loot pool; world drops, which are just average in all fields

Adept weapons should have 2 mod slots, instead of 1 normal and 1 adept. This would allow people to stack 2 different adept mods if they want, or things like icarus and radar tuner. More reason below.

More mods should be added and have more unique and powerful effects (Warmind Cells). I could see bungie having 3 "weapon-centric" vendors: Rasputin, who sells special "Warmind Augments" basically mods that add a perk-lite ('augmented clip' reload after a kill for 15% bonus damage for 3 seconds) or enable the weapon to do a certain thing, like generate warmind cells, again to limit effects of sunsetting and finding the perfect perks; Ada-1, who sells frames to make the different legendary weapons in the game through the forges, and provides a quest path to change perks; Banshee-44, who can change the element, masterwork, sights, and barrels, for the cost of weapon telementries and some time. All 3 vendors focus on a different aspect of legendary weapons. (Its also lore friendly)

  8. So this the first of your vids I have seen and there are a ton of amazing ideas in here! I have some questions for just general ideas. What have you thought about rolling mods back into perks so there are more options and choice to be made with your weapons. Also I think this is a great idea but I think the only issue is that it could get out of control in pvp possibly. As a PvE main I personally wouldn’t really care if the crucible got crazy but some people maybe raise the pitch forks. Again great video!!!

  9. Blue engrams should be rare blueprint drops that unlock nodes in your collections.

That way you can not only fix the cannot acquire random roll collectables. But you can also build the weapon the way you want.

  10. Great video – some solid ideas so far (not quite finished). I'm confused though, you're aware that 'Pinnacle weapons' are not new right? Weapons with experimental and powerful perks existed in a similar form (albeit not quite as grand) as you describe (see Luna's Howl / Not Forgotten, see Recluse, see Mountaintop etc.)

And incidentally, the removal of those Pinnacle Weapons is the single biggest issue Bungie has introduced for me personally since D2 launch. So I'm with you, please bring them back and please make them as broken as they were post Forsaken.

  11. I really think people Need to stop thinking Bungie are going to make all these changes.. Theyre not interested. they’re blatantly winding the game down making way for Matter…
