When you break down gear, especially purple legendary gear, sometimes you get extra drops – like Rainmaker, for extra Glimmer, or Finest Matterweave, the one we’re interested in. It causes bosses to have a chance to drop an Enhancement Core when you defeat them.

You’ll find it in your Consumables menu in your Inventory.

What you may not know is that it works – not only on bosses – but on orange bar Majors, yellow bar Ultras, and yellow bar bosses.

There is a nostalgic spot in the Cosmodrome, in the Steppes – near Shaw Han – where three orange bar Hive Acolytes and Knights spawn, underneath an abandoned station. Sometimes, a yellow bar will spawn there, too.

Pop the Finest Matterweave, go and kill until one drops the Enhancement Core in the form of a legendary engram. Take cover in a spot I show in the video, pop another Finest Matterweave, rinse repeat. Fast travel back to Shaw, and repeat until you have the Cores that you need.
