Debuffs on Atraks ACTUALLY WORK | Destiny 2 Beyond Light

My last video had some bad information and I wanted to clear the air with some testing. I ran tests on the Atraks replications and recorded the damage numbers showing that debuffs on the replications DO IN FACT WORK. The rest of the video is explaining that weird health glitch and why not running a debuff might actually be the better option for cleaner damage.

  1. I think people are confused about the purpose of this video. This video was made to show that the game, more often then not, is not calculating the damage correctly on the replication. The debuffs in game are being shown as working and calculating correctly on the damage screen, HOWEVER, the damage reflected on the health bar is rarely consistent with that.

This video was made in hopes to highlight the networking issues related to this boss. There is a link in the description to Battle(Non)Sense's video explaining netcode in more detail.

  2. Hello! I'm the creator and maintainer of the Buffs/Debuffs Spreadsheet you very kindly linked and sourced. Thank you! This video is super informative and straight-to-the-point, hope to see more videos like this in the future!

I, too, was initially puzzled when Atraks would "nullify" Debuffs but it turns out as explained in the video re: netcoding/server tick rate. As a side-note: I think a lot of confusion re: Debuffs (on Atraks and Taniks) came from the new Enhanced Scanner Augment "debuff" Mod which – again, initially I thought would NOT stack – can stack with Global Debuffs. However this Mod seems to be conflicting with Divinity – the King Debuff applicator in a lot of these encounters (maybe not in Atraks, but in Taniks definitely) – where the new Mod actually OVERRIDES Divinity's effects and reduces the % down to however many Mods you have slotted in (~20% being the max for 5x Mods).

The Enhanced Scanner Augment Mod – if you're interested – can be stacked with other Global Debuffs, like Tractor Cannon. I cannot take credit for finding this out and was made aware to me by a lovely Destiny community member (u/LoveLissyl), but it transpires that this is actually how people 3- or 2-Guardian phase these encounters: you apply the Enhanced Scanner Augment and a non-Divinity Global Debuff and they can stack to immediately have 20%*30%. Throw in your other usual Global Buff + PoR + whatever else you want to stack and you can see how DPS can skyrocket.

  3. Is the health bar reduced accordingly? One weird thing about eyes of tomorrow is that it deals way more damage than the numbers shown, so i wonder if debuffs actually impact the health bar.

  4. The whole point of my video was that the debuffs ultimately do not affect the health bar. Yes, you still do increased damage numbers. However there is absolutely no correlation between debuffing the clones and doing more on the health bar, which my video expressed. We've done several tests after my video released with Eyes and other weapons, and every single time we do more damage when we have the guy out of bounds tractoring the true captain. This continues to support my video in saying that debuffs don't actually contribute to the damage if applied to the clone. The ONLY way to know this would be by comparing to damage done when the outside captain is debuffed, which we did. Your title is very very misleading, as is the intent of this video.

  5. I did some tests with 2 lights and 1 heavy on lament (So I wouldn't get regen), damage values at the end are different (which you did address in your video). I also took screenshots of the health bar for both after damage and there almost the same, except the one with melting had a tiny bit more due to the strike of melting.

  6. from what i've heard and seen, debuffs show that they do more damage, but the extra damage isnt represented in the health taken away. So the extra tether 30% says you do 30% more but the health bar doesn't move to indicate it
