Since the launch of Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2 back in March of 2020, the game mode has been floundering about in an utterly abysmal state. The loot is incredibly stingy, the player population is laughably small, and the gameplay is ruined by three-peekers and cheaters alike. If you can’t get to five wins, Bungie sees fit to spit on the player with a single, static reward available each week, and for players that regularly go flawless, they’ve been handed “Adept” Weapons that are basically no better than their non-Adept counterparts, making the incentive to even go flawless next to zero.

But Trials doesn’t have to stay this way. I believe that it can not only be saved, but brought to heights of which it has never seen before. In this video, I’m going to lay out how I would go about fixing this broken game mode. We’re going to discuss how the base gameplay and matchmaking can be improved to make the mode more fun to play, and we’ll also completely revamp the rewards structure so that loot rains for everyone, no matter what your skill level is. And finally, we’ll talk about how we can remake the Lighthouse into the sacred venue it once was back in Destiny 1. Let’s jump in!

  1. How does connection based matchmaking make help me not get matched with people with 100 flawless tickets to their name? Serious question. I thought skill based matchmaking would get this done, not connection.

  2. Not only do these changes make sense, but it fixes the biggest issue i have with D2: lack of loot in a looter shooter. Your vids are a fucking god send dude! Keep it up!

  3. here you are handing Bungie amazing ideas on a silver platter, yet they still aren't in the game…
    they probably think like, "well we can't just implement what they say 1 for 1, that would make us look unoriginal and bad!" but, do we have a better alternative? cause Bungie doesn't seem to.

  4. If connection based matchmaking were a thing, us australians would be seeing some very long queue times. Can't remember the last time I was in a lobby that I wasn't getting 110-150ns

  5. This is unreal… can bungo hire this guy? Lol. Also, on that same note, may I suggest, a flawless ordeal triples the rewards? Solo or as a team if there is no deaths you get triple rewards of one thing?
