Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen is feeling like it will get more playtime from me compared to Destiny 2 Beyond Light. This isn’t hype, and I can’t really put my finger on why, but my gut tells me that I will be playing more. What about you?

  1. I"m so excited for you and our community! The clan and friends I've found in discord make playing Destiny excited, we raid, we run the grindie missions on all our alts, and just have a great time playing and bitching a few nights a week! Keep it up brother!

  2. It really just seems to be copy paste for the most part , I feel it’s necessary to play though with needing weapon inventory for next year , hopefully their are hidden gems this season

  3. Here's what i think is happening: Beyond light was a solid expansion, but there was no activity where you could just go into and farm for hours on end for god rolls. That, i feel, is the kind of activity most players prefer playing in destiny. Beyond light had none of that, even farming the europa weapons needed you to do a bunch of other things before you could go into the actual empire hunt and get the gun.Europa weapon quests admittedly felt more like a chore than anything. The only endlessly farmable piece of content with actual guns in it was the raid. However, it seems like season of the chosen's seasonal activity will be endlessly farmable without stupid restrictions and chores you have to do before getting into the activity. That alone will make this season much better than beyond light's activities, and coupled with the new strikes, nightfall guns, exotics and dungeon reisssues will make it a very good season imo.

  4. Fair comment but life has taught me to be less a "glass half empty" thinker and more a "where the hell did my glass go, wait who burned down the house" thinker.
Unless MAJOR changes to content loops happen i can't see anything changing – and sure, the battlegounds look interesting from the hype trailer but so did the wrathborn hunts and the warmind towers…
My core concern though is around our shopping list of things to do – it seems that there will be nothing new here except a different format – we've gone from taking individual orders to taking a group order – that's cool but we're still doing the same things so i doubt it'll make a difference after week 2 or 3. when people catch up to the fact it's just the same things we were doing but more focused. It also means for a player like me who refuses to participate in anything cheatville (trials/pvp) related i'll be getting LESS rewarded and have less progression opportunities across the season.
I'm happy to be proven wrong on any of this but i don't buy into hope – it's the first step on the road to disappointment.

  5. Definitely, I feel like I will be more engaged this coming season rather than the launch. Between the new activities and new loot being introduced i think it will a mini turning point for the game

  6. Well you’ve barely played at all, would it really take much for you to play more than beyond light.
And beyond light sucked, it was 20$ of content for 50$. It killed a lot of my motivation to play too.

  7. I feel like there is no reason to feel that way because ive personally just been disappointed to much to have the potential for excitement. Will i try it out? Yes, but im going in with the lowest expectations possible.

  8. Well no one is wrong for thinking Chosen will be great. It looks great but I have this weird suspicion that a lot of stuff will return. Since umbrals are returning, pit and shattered throne are returning with at least a reason to go play them for loot than just for fun. To me season of the Chosen will make me want to play destiny (especially since battlegrounds is not free for all) and I am very curious to see what this seasons exotic weapon is. (Hopefully something new and not first curse).

  9. Beyond Light fell flat on its face for me as soon as the season started. The lures were so tedious and annoying to charge and the weapons were bland and subpar at best. Stasis was a fun new tool for about the first 2 weeks, but Bungie didn't introduce any way to vary stasis builds with there being so few aspects and fragments. I'm looking forward to playing more next season because hopefully there will be things in the game that I want to chase.

  10. Tbh, I want new season because of replayability, or different stuff to do. Right now I run weekly raid, clovis simulation and pvp.
The feel of something fresh is very tentative. Buuuut sesson of the worthy baited me last year and scince then I didnt purchased seasonal content yet. Now I wait at least 2 or 4 days to look at loot pool and perks, and theeen if I se something interesting I will buy it.
Even right now I saw new bow smg pulse at seasonal weapons and its very tentative.

  11. the loot we're getting for season of the chosen seems more worth it cuz we can take it into the next years expansion. that bonechiller god roll will be useless come witch queen so these weapons have a function or use maybe

  12. Same cos I literally haven’t touched exo challenges or empire hunts since I got cloudstrike but with this I have a feeling telling me there will be a reason to do the playlist and seasonal activities

  13. Beyond light definitely felt like beyond chores. Every activity you did except the raid, lost sectors, and maybe the exo challenge felt like a checklist of chores. Stasis was fun but I couldn't stand grinding for more aspects and I probably won't grind for any more if they continue this chore system

  14. I was hyped for beyond light and it was the first time I stoped playing destiny from all the way back in the very beginning of d1 so I absolutely know what your talking about and feel the same

  15. Yeah man… I totally agree. Something about having this ominous character who is associated with someone we know is just so interesting. I think the best way I could compare it would be like we had Oryx, he was great. Caitil is like the Savathun. She is the counterpart to Calus. The content loop seems so much better than SoTH. I feel overwhelmed again. I want trials guns. I want the new playlist loot. I want the new adept weapons from trials and nightfalls. I want the loot from the Battlegrounds. I want this new strike. I love the armor. Idk man, I am rattling on at this point. Something about BL and its season was off, however, it feels like we are slowly getting back into the destiny I know and love.

  16. I’m more excited for Caiatl to come into the scene than I was with Eramis. Caiatl was a little more mentioned in the lore with lore tabs etc. And I hope with seasons leading up to new expansion, Caiatl doesn’t come and go in 4 hours like Eramis did. Hopefully Caiatl sticks around

  17. I'm in the same boat Lono, I stopped playing mid December and I just got back to playing this week but I feel like Season of The Chosen is gonna be a step in the right direction. We for sure cannot forget the fundamental criticisms we've been making these past few weeks moving forward.
