Yet another season of earning the Conqueror Title Solo by clearing all 6 of the Grandmaster Nightfalls. A little slow on getting this compilation video out sorry, but happy enough to get this done. I think at this stage it feels more of a chore than an actual challenge to go for all of these on a solo though.

Compared to the previous two seasons, I feel like this was the most tedious of them to get them all done. Not because of their difficulty, because for the most part all of them felt easier than before. But it’s because so many were incredibly long this time around. All of the previous Grandmasters thus far were well under an hour (with the exception of The Corrupted / Platinum A Garden World). This was in part due to having the raid mods, better weapons and artifacts mods, and the strikes that were still around. They felt a lot more enjoyable before, more satisfying to actually complete them, and didn’t feel like so much of a chore.

With the current season, both of the new strikes added have ridiculous amounts of health, making the entire thing drag on forever. Two of the strikes were the same as before – Exodus Crash and Broodhold. Exodus Crash probably being one of the least enjoyable strikes in the game, but Broodhold is alright. The Inverted Spire and The Scarlet Keep haven’t been Grandmasters before either, and The Inverted Spire is actually a fun strike in my opinion (if you ignore the new mechanic of teleporting Champions). The Scarlet Keep is another that’s unfortunately boring due to it being so long. When you take all of that into consideration, it makes for the least enjoyable line-up for Solo Grandmaster Nightfalls so far.

On top of that, all of the Nightfalls tend to have very easy to replicate cheeses to complete them. And in the case you don’t go for a cheese, generally Hunter Invis trivialises the Nightfall anyway, making it basically a very effective cheese at that point. That’s always going to be the case with any strike in the game though, particularly when the main handicap and difficulty comes from purely being underpowered.

I’m hoping the gilded title will make the Grandmasters more interesting in the following season. I’m unsure where they will stand in regards to being more enjoyable for solo play, but perhaps it’ll make for some more interesting challenges at least. Or if we can see some more variety in options of dealing with Champions, as currently they severely hurt build diversity and what’s actually viable to run (without completely hindering yourself).
