  1. Pretty much every decision bungie has made this year has been a bad one when I comes to community wants and sentiment. I really hope they make it right and actually listen to players in 2021

  2. Even if they just changed it to make the event armour ornaments the end of quest reward would make community quests feel like they where worth it a lot more than a random exotic and some garbage one top rather than ornaments that are locked behind a paywall or for 6k bd each make them an actual part of the event their made for

  3. Since everybody had to grind their butts off just to get this “exotic” reward. I was expecting something new. What a joke to grind as hard as everybody did. We could have gotten the same rewards just grinding nightfalls. In a shorter time as well.

  4. I agree the reward was not awesome, but we had to do nothing. Just play whatever you have to do and will get ingredients, and then upgrading the ship and equiping, thats it.

  5. I actually had some pretty low expectations for the Exotic reward to begin with, I was just thinking it was going to be an engram and the fruitcake thing so in a way I was satisfied, especially as a person who doesn't grind NFs (or really anything, I'm pretty casual) a lot. That being said, I can see why someone with a whole postmaster full of them would be disappointed especially if you're someone that spent a lot of time grinding out cookies.
Edit: After giving it some thought none of this really makes sense to me, it seems like Bungie is picking very specific community feedback to respond to (*cough* the lootpool) while dare I say ignoring the other problems, the only conclusion I can draw from this is that there might be a lot of behind the scenes problems they aren't telling us (which I suppose happens a lot in the industry) but I hope these problems do get addressed seeing as they make up probably about half the content in a year.

  6. I find The Dawning community event to be the least offensive of all of them. Yes, the rewards could be better, but we progressed passively through playing the game. Empyrean Foundation had better rewards, but I feel was too far in the opposite direction from The Dawning rewards – what with Empyrean Foundation being the most effective way to obtain seasonal loot, leading to standing in the tower for upwards of 15 minutes just grabbing weapon bounties and donating fractaline. Corridors of time was very hit or miss, with the reward being incredibly disappointing. Finally, I find the Felwinter's Lie "community event" to be the most egregious, as that required thousands upon thousands of Seraph Tower completions without tracking the completions from before the "event" going live – something we had already been doing all season.

  7. I mean its christmas and we got nothing for a community quest. I expected it but hoping bungie would surprise us with a new exotic or atleast hawkmoon random rolls. At the very least more than ONE ascendant shard.

  8. Corridors of Time: Excellent. Imperium Foundation: (once it was working properly) also Excellent. This Dawning Event? All the goodies were in Eververse! Whatever happened to "aspirational rewards" being in-game? Still slightly ticked off that the latest expansion did not include the first season (as it did with Shadowkeep) considering how 70-80% of the content had been excised. Stasis is an interesting concept, but there's seemingly no apparent consequence for going "dark-side"? A nasty thought just struck me me – in that if all content that was excised is then refurbished just to sell back to us at a later date ….. I do so hope not.

  9. All of it needs to change. … events shouldn't be a chore. AFK farming shouldn't just not be a thing, it shouldn't even be attractive. It's worrying when one player could design this all better than how many paid professionals worked on it? … I really like this game and there are some serious issues I face trying to play it, WITHOUT any issues from Bungie, i.e. the 3 player activities, the 6 player raids, smaller groups can't get enough people together and the larger the group gets the more we compete, and someone always always gets left out. It's a gamer problem, nothing that design can fix… but This Event was a chore. Gift? Celebration? …. no. It's a chore and the surprise is awful. The Targeted loot system from Arrivals did it RIGHT. You just play, you PLAY, you get more rewards. ….what is so wrong with that? … Everything in this game is "use this gun" "use that element", "play this now"…. "play it this way"…. ….I paid money Bungie just let me PLAY. Regular loot and rewards need buffs as well. Legendary shards shouldn't just drain away after Arrivals, after more than 400 hours since beyond light I'm out of tokens and gunsmith mats, and just about out of leg shards. …The game feels awful to me, and it could be awesome if it just gave everyone more. More for no lifers, more for people like me who have a lot of trouble keeping up/no way to ever achieve titles/catalysts/raids/pvp/ anything. I log in and I'm disappointed in myself and the game. Not something I want to pay money for.

  10. Set your expectations too high and you will always be disappointed. Where did these complaining players get the idea, with Bungie's track record, that this event was going to provide something special??

The effort for this event was minimal. Get bounties from Eva, bake cookies, deliver cookies. Hardly any effort at all. Whilst doing this, you could get many Glaciocasms, Cold Fronts and plenty of enhancement cores.

At the end, you get the bonus of an ascendant shard and other bits and pieces. Stop treating the game like a partner that has betrayed you and you'll enjoy it more. If not, then play something else. What is the drama all about??
