Full length hair Brian today. Looking glorious
I saw Fallouts vid and agree… this raid was hard, particularly in challenge mode. Only 2-3% of the teams got a day 1 clear. That's the stat that should be looked at if you want to glean anything on raid difficulty. While there were a ton more ppl/teams participating given covid, saturday start, and plenty of time to grind to get to level only made this much more available to the general player base. A VERY good thing! I hope this will serve as a model/template as the basis moving forward for all day 1 raid races.
The raid is just easy as a whole. Only 4 encounters, 2 bosses. Everyone, even the good teams, spent the most time on Atriks, which is by far the hardest encounter because it is the most involved.
This creates the perception day one was too easy for the high tier players. It is because the raid is easy. You can die in most encounters and pretty easily recover. I would say it is easier than Wrath of the Machine.
The biggest challenge was challenge mode. I did not do challenge mode, but a week later I ran it for the first time with 1 sherpa and 4 newbies, and we beat it in 2 hours. This is after being taught the mechanics on the spot.
I think this is the perfect difficulty. It reminds me of VOG. Allows mistakes, not too complicated, not too long and not too short, and it is fun.
14:49 This is the reason I had a bad experience running the new raid. The first question I heard once my team loaded in was "Did you guys watch any videos?" Instantly pissed me off. Then my clan mates expected me to pick up the boss mechanics after two wipes. They kept asking who was doing this, who wasn't doing that. I really would have enjoyed the raid, but the expectation ruined it. I left my long time clan because it pissed me off. I've swore to never step foot into a raid again
Beyond light is not an Expansion it’s just more seasonal content. What they have us is not an Expansion. There is nothing in Beyond light that you can call Expansion worthy at all.
I know you in ya feelings…but Kings Fall….The Taken King is the best…and how you didn't know what was going on when fighting the taken king…wtf
People want mouse and keyboard on console because they want an advantage. I don’t believe any other reason.
"More people played the raid than ever before"
It's free on GamePass. So that's a mute point.
Sounds like Destin’s audio is coming through the headset and not his standalone mic.
Biggest problem with the game right now is that all locations that aren’t Europa almost feel pointless. The Dreaming City and Tangled Shore only have the Wrathborn Hunts to make them relevant, but flashpoints are gone. Cosmodrome is incredibly disappointing. It has the higher level lost sectors, but beyond that there is not much else.
Do all difter statues have the added detail? 😯
There’s one lure, penguins and bray tech scanner things left, that’s it.
Cosmodrome is for new players, that’s why they’res nothing else there, like just like EDZ.
Why has nobody acknowledged better weapons and mods since last wish charged with light and warmind cell mods making the raid easier
Good new planet and story missions are boss. The problem with Destiny is that the center is now hollow. We've been dealing with the same weapon types for 7 years and it's very very boring. The exotic weapons aside from the sword are very situational which takes 90% of the fun out of them. many of us like myself don't particularly care to play in the cosmodrome ever again. I was having a lot of fun until the story missions and and then doing strikes is an absolute no-no. The new strike is not really that great also so it once again leans on the weapons to be interesting to go and kill a bunch of baddies with. But they're not interesting and all of the weapons I've been using are mostly from the last two seasons.
personally I'm tired of most guns being kind of analog human weapons I mean wearing space for god sakes after two a collapse and people coming from the dead and why the hell are gamers excited about hand cannons I will never ever understand. This whole thing about a cowboy in space it's so much American corniness I just can't get interested in it anymore. But the killer was the grenade launcher which does absolutely no damage and is super terrible if you don't charge it before you shoot. I mean what's the point of even using it your grenade does stasis so much better.
I've always said that this game lives and dies on its purples and without really interesting baseline purpose to use the exotics are not holding up well so then what do you do after that period it's a shame because there's a lot of good work done especially with Clovis Bray and hey at least we got some good stuff out of this one.
Nobody cares about TEDDY!
No offense but I wouldn’t consider you guys top tier. Theres people who raid all day have hundreds of raid clears for each raid, do speedruns and low mans. Just saying there is a difference and a lot of that comes down to time investment, the group you play with and your mentality in min maxing challenging content. The raid was easier than most others no doubt, but on console its always been hard with contest. I got day one with an LFG group on ps4 at 23:38 and surprised we even got it. There should be consideration towards how contest affects console otherwise we will never have a chance at worlds first, even with a solid preformed team used to playing together.
Bro why does Brian always look like he’s high and trying to hide that he’s high as shit 😂😂😂
Only 1.9% of people who attempted the Raid with conquest modifier completed it. That's on par with some of the other raids. More people completed it because more people participated. We had time to gear up and it was on the weekend. Took my team 15 hours. Dr. Broman was also correct in what he said. This game has been out for a long time. More people are in the position of mastering the game and the mechanics.
100% agree with Destin in regards to the raid being labeled as "too easy" by literally like 10 players who are the top .001% of players. i haven't tried it yet but i saw SO many people saying the opposite, people who aren't new to raids.
Sunsetting weapons and armor and removing 50% of content from the game ( crucible and gambit maps, strikes, destinations and Raids ) has been the biggest mistake Bungie has ever done.Beyond Light is Ok, but the game feels tedious and boring
taniks being "the boss" was kinda playing it safe. even if it makes sense lore wise it felt cookie cutter
The biggest reason Destiny 2 is easier on PC is due to FOV and mouse movement/precision. Using a mouse to aim is MUCH easier than using a thumbstick. Load times play some factor, but not a super large one. And the FPS debate is valid. People get headaches when switching from 100+ fps on pc down to 30 on console as well as motion blur. PC just feels more competitive with the level of detail to which you can edit video settings, frame caps, FOV sliders, and other things.
My team was the 50th team on xbox to clear day 1. Other than us, I don't know anyone else who has the emblem. Feels really nice.
This is the best Expantion because this time I did not buy it….
Love the game but I just can't get on board with the Casual, Stripped Down,Battle Pass direction "Master Luke" has taken one of my favorite games…
😭😭😭😭😭😭
P.S Bungie is dying to turn Destiny into Fortnight and is killing the franchise slowly but surely
I liked the raid overall. I think I'd put it above Wrath of the Machine (KF and LW sit at the top) because the setpieces are just… plain fun! Shooting up into the orbital station and down again for Atraks was really cool, as was the hectic disarmament before the Taniks fight.
A little note on what Brian was mentioning in regard to the Season of the Hunt triumph seal in how it says there are x amount of triumphs, but there are not that many listed. I noticed this last season when I was looking over my triumphs, for example my total number of EDZ triumphs, and it said I had more than what was listed. Come to find out that the triumphs that have multiple steps, each of those steps were being counted in the total number of triumphs. So that is probably what is going on with this season's triumph seal. I do agree though that I think there are more hunts coming, because Cabal were mentioned, and there was that cutscene in the trailer that showed Zavala and Osiris meeting with the Cabal.
it’s just ppl do not want to invest a lifetime to prep for a raid . ppl that play this game really are not kids .
got my day 1 emblem . 21 ppl / 3 fireteams completed it . finished 172 nd in the world and in the top 2k. plus first in the destiny 100 competition we can make any casual a better guardian . if you guys ever are looking for a pc clan please come check out broodmothers
Hearing these amount of hours they spent on the raid… Makes me realize how I will NEVER try to do a raid
i like McClumpy… he's a gamer. I don't like that C-team older woman though. prefer not to watch ep when she's on
Why do people care so much about the race? Why does it have to be possible for so many teams to complete it day 1? Wouldn't it be much cooler if it were harder and took maybe a week or so for a lot of teams to beat it? That way we're not over it so fast? Think about Kings Fall… We had to play that to level up. That raid was really hard because we were under leveled and every time we got a drop from it that increased our level it was a great moment. Every drop got us closer and closer to beating the raid quicker because it was gradually getting easier. Because the raid was hard, our power level mattered, and beating the raid was even further incentivized.
TL;DR: fuck the race, leave it to the streamers and no lifers, because at the end of the day the game is better when the raid is a high level activity that we need to level up for, and by playing the raid – even if we can't beat it for a week, we still get loot from the early encounters which powers us up and makes the later encounters easier.
Got my day 1 in about 17 hours on console. Not going to lie, it probably would have been easier with higher frames and the FoV slider. My group had issues with Attraks bugging out. He constantly healed hp for no reason and when we got to the final stand the game didn't realize we broke him and so he did another extinction protocol on the bottom after we all went up top. Got stuck on him for about 6 hours. My group took pride that we didn't look up any guides and figured out everything ourselves. Apparently only 217 teams on console completed it so yea it was pretty darn hard.
Contest mode was perfect. In fact contest mode should be the hard mode with Adept weapons. Seriously, PvE should also have Adept weapons.
Have a timer start after you have about 5 teams finish of maybe two hours so that anyone who takes longer than that doesn’t get the emblem
C-team hair is on point 👌 keep it like that
Great to see Rick Astley on the team!
Never gonna give, never gonna give…
