Trials’ popularity has taken a Shatterdive.
Nerfing is the easy road. Bring the other subclasses up to par with the Stasis class system!
I absolutely love the gun play for this season since autos arent too dominant and yes im a hunter main but i exclusively use gunslinger since stasis doesnt feel rewarding but the fact bungie hasnt touched shatterdive baffles me and at this point i just avoid pvp altogether since getting space jam dunked by a freezy boi hunter isnt fun at all
What is wrong with stasis? I see no problems with it.
The main problem with Stasis as a whole is how it destroys the skill gap of PvP. You could out maneuver someone easily or begin winning a duel against them and all they have to do is toss a Stasis grenade at you, or pop their melee and boom, they win. Now, you could say, "oh well then just stay out of range of their abilities" The maps in PvP are small enough as it is, and the idea that you can determine when people will just ability spam you is asinine for the common player. Something needs to be done about Stasis, other than removing it. I would say reduce the freeze time even more in PvP. Common ability freeze should only last half a second. Super freeze should last 1 second. Not this nonsense 5 second freeze from grenades and melees and supers that is all too common. Previous supers were also just "I win" buttons in their own way, but you have the chance to counter them regardless except for maybe Blade Barrage. But if a Hunter with his Stasis Super wants you dead, he just presses that button and you're done. If a Titan with his Stasis Super wants you dead, he will cross the map twice to secure the kill on you. If a Warlock wants you dead, he will toss his nade, then melee, then before you unfreeze, throw another at you and then hit you with the shatter. It's all just so absurd and it gets frustrating to lose to people you know you would win against in PvP only due to one ability. It's the equivalent of someone playing CoD and only using the current broken meta gun. Because if it nets them wins, why would they use anything else? I can only hope Bungie's PvP team is hard at work talking with the balance team to sort this out, because I'm slowly losing my interest in playing PvP if all I go up against is the same players who are being rewarded for bad habit playing with broken abilities rather than good players who I have to figure out how to fight against normally.
Also. Shatter Dive should be known community wide as the Shitter Dive. Used only by Shitters who can't kill you any other way.
So nobody will talk about the one hit titan melee? Balanced.

Stasis is a crutch it takes no skill at all and its broken
This could be easily solved if stasis gave slowed instead of frozen.
Behemoth is Bottom Tree Smash but you can freeze and it lasts 3x longer than the pre nerf Smash.
The movement ability is pretty hard to counter too, on console anyway.
Agreed with everything except for claiming the slide is balanced because it has a cool down.
Ladies and Gents, I actually refuse to use Stasis in pvp. It feels like cheating. thats how insanely broken it is. I am a hunter main and I can tell you, it simply isn't fair. I refuse to use it until it is fixed. I will not be part of the problem. And before I get replies talking about get rekt, I still find ways to try and outplay it. I realize that is almost futile because 99% of people want that easy kill and want the easy win. But I find that there is no fun in just completely decimating people im the most broken way possible. I like a good challenge when I play pvp. Games are more fun when everyone is playing fairly and everyone has a chance to fight back. Stasis robs people of the ability to fight back and thats what makes it so incredibly frustrating to play against.
We need a rock paper scissors system to deal with stasis. Fire should trump ice. Ice could trump arc or void. Arc or void could trump fire.
The damage resistance values should be switched between nova warp and behemoth
They should also nerf the slowed effect. It’s too powerful, the duskfield grenade suction is also too powerful
they just need to reduce the effects of these abilities on guardians , shorter slow times , less damage from shatter and almost instant release from being frozen after all we're guardians.
At this point, if they just straight up disabled stasis in pvp, more people would be happier than those who’d be upset
Just disable Stasis in the Crucible, and most of us would be happier I think!
Sorry…but if you want to play a serious pvp game it's not destiny pvp my guy. Play COD, Apex or hell halo infinite pvp is free. Destiny pvp isn't build for serious pvp play that coming from the heart

I think slowing, freezing, and crystal shattering should all be looked at in PVP.
Slowing should be incredibly nerfed. The slowing factor is mostly fine, maybe tone it down a bit, but disabling movement abilities is fine imo. What's not good is that your aim is massively fucked while you're slowed, so it's basically impossible to fight back. Tone down the slowing effect and remove the weapon penalties, and it'd be fine. This change would likely extend to PVE since Bungie only separates sandboxes so much, but slowing isn't very helpful in PVE in the first place.
For freezing, I think the key is to make it not quite a death sentence, but still debilitating. The duration changes from 4.75 seconds to a little over 1 was a step in the right direction: warlock melee and Coldsnap basically require you to be on point to make the most of your freeze nowadays, since someone will thaw after a very short time. If you aren't already breathing down someone's neck, you basically wasted your melee/grenade, especially with primary weapons now doing less damage to frozen targets. The changes should be extended to every other form of freeze, including Shurikens.
Crystal shatter damage should just be toned down exponentially. Maybe if multiple crystals are shattered at the same moment, decrease the overall damage for every crystal after the first (first crystal explodes for 100% damage, second for 80%, third for 60%, etc). Hopefully it'd be enough to not 1 shot supers, and Guardians in neutral may be able to survive so long as they're not next to a group of crystals. A change like this would allow Shatterdive and even Cryoclasm to punish bad play (read: shotgun aping), but it wouldn't be an "I win" button for every situation.
And yes, Glacial Quake needs to be touched up as well. Duration needs to be reduced to that of a normal super, and, imo, their damage resistance should probably be a bit less than the average melee roaming super since they have so much maneuverability.
Everyone I know quit because of Stasis. I think I'm done too. Pvp just bores me now.
