What Happened to Strikes? Here's How to Fix Them | Destiny 2 Beyond Light

Read more about Destiny 2 ➜ https://destiny2.mgn.tv

Since the end of Destiny 1, the state of Vanguard Strikes has continually diminished, both in terms of fun and evolving gameplay and in terms of loot incentives. I’m going to take you through the history of strikes from Destiny 2’s launch all the way to Beyond Light, and them provide feedback and commentary on how we can fix this core playlist of the game in both the short and long terms. Hopefully it is insightful and promotes your own ideas on how to save the Strike Playlist!

  1. Holy crap, the amount of support y'all have shown me for this video is insane! Next video will be out tomorrow morning, hope y'all end up liking it!! Hard to believe we hit over 1k subs from just one video, I don't deserve you guys <3

  2. I like this idea very much and I would say that we take all the world drops away from these activities and put them into patrols so the vendors in the patrols can have weapon and armor bounties for you and the public events can have relevance again…if not that then some vanilla and legacy weapons and armor should turn into the patrol and vendor drops…because patrols just don’t feel the same anymore 😔

  3. I remember I would play the strike playlist all day long back in D1 and wouldn't get bored. It would be 5am and I'd pass out while in orbit, but it's just not the same ;-; but after the state of Destiny 2021 I have hope again.

  4. this is what made me quit destiny 2 … i love the game but d1 strikes had more stuff to do . or that you could do with the modifiers. and the thing that make me mad, if they want to vault stuff, im fine but replace what you vault not just hey we talking all this away and giving you 2 things have fun . i was like randy jackson from american idol… thats gunna be a no for me dawg.

  5. How about Core playlist specific armour mods that can only be equipped to the relevant armour from that activity kinda like how the raid mods are now. Things like faster reload speed when capturing zones in crucible or damage resistance increase when getting invaded in gambit? Might give people a reason to grind for the armour too rather than just the weapons which I’d imagine most people would focus on.

  7. I love this. I'm a PvE casual, only playing an hour or so a day, so anything to enhance the robustness of Strikes would be very appreciated. Your ideas are excellent! I just found your videos today, and I'm an instant subscriber to your channel.

  8. I'm still not sure how I can get the same strike back to back. Strikes would be less tedious if they rotated them better. I get so sick of running the same 3 or 4 strikes every time. What is the issue with these things being less 'random' and more varied?

  9. how theyve been doing strikes recently with damage gates is so boring like its literally a strike i just want it to end, the way they did it in the inverted spire however is great and is my favourite strike that came from destiny 2, and sorry but they ruined the omnigual reprisal with navota with a bad arena and damage gating and the sepiks reprisal is bearable

  10. We'll never get better unique loot for strikes because the devs can't monetize it like eververse. In d1 my favorite modifier was small arms and solar singe making Mythoclast in a the death ray it deserved to be. My favorite d1 strike was The Darkblade.

  11. So, why not have a generally good static roll for all of the basic guns from all of the basic vendors available for free to play players, and for paying players you get the rest of the access to the random rolls and subsequently, God rolls. That sounds like a good idea to me.

  12. I think structurally, destiny 2 strikes need work. The return of d1 strikes really shows this issue off, with d1 strikes having many more big combat areas and d2 strikes being speedrun challenges

  13. For me, I would like the pve in strikes to be more challenging. What we get in a L2 nightfall, that is the right difficulty for a strike. Currently too many low end pve content is too easy and boring. Override, strikes etc..

  14. To me, Shield Brothers, The Siva Priest/Ogre Abomination and the Venus Nexus strike were amazing in D1. D2 strikes were hit and miss but after the vaulting when Beyond Light launched, all the decent strikes went away and now we're stuck with little to nothing.
All I want is a massive influx of new strikes that hit the D1 standard to the top, mixed with Strike-Specific loot too

  15. I just found this channel, but I can't stop watching these vids! Your ideas are inspiring, I hope Bungie takes a hard look at everything you say, I would love to play your version of Destiny 2!

  16. I have a combat modifier idea…

I call it Offensive strategy, The modifier would give a flat 15% damage buff to all player damage in exchange for 2.5x class ability recharge time.

Since class abilities are all defensive, dodge rolls lets you escape easily, healing rift allows you to heal yourself and titan barricade creates cover.

Hence why the modifier would be called offensive strategy.

With the inclusion of this modifier I feel like the gameplay would be hugely shaken up within the strikes and nightfalls on any given week.

    😀
