In this video we will be looking at the newly introduced exotic sword, The Lament and pitting it up against what many consider to be the best sword currently in Destiny 2, Falling Guillotine. We’ll compare the weapons stats, perks, damage numbers, functionality and utility to try and figure out which sword is the best option in Beyond Light!

Once I got used to the combo Lament was amazing but when you're a decent light level guillotine is more than enough and frees the exotic
Sadly lament is exotic and falling is legendary so already it has an advantage
Thanks for all the testing i really appreciate it. Nacrotic grip freeze than witherhoard shot followed up by guillotine might be the most damage
another tip that can put lament above guillotine, the lament can do its full combo while in air
A tiny bit off to ask but, do you think you’ll do a comparison of Sunshot and Thorn/AoS? Since it’s the last of it kind?
i was lowkey salty my friend had the guillotine and i didnt so i jus tried to act like it wasnt any good im so glad somthing better came out i could get an it feels so nice
Lament claps over fit both and it’s not even a fair fight. 😂
If you want to see how busted this weapon is play the nightfall and compare the two against overload minotaurs. Which is completely fair because the special thing on lament is for something completely different.
??? Lament can get nine stacks of banshees wail.
Great video and analysis. I was thinking the same thing you concluded but having this video to quantify is nice. Falling G is going to be the go to 90%-95% of the time since I don’t lose an exotic and better crowd control with crazy damage.
I rock top tree Voidwalker with Nazerac's Sin, so I would rather a masterworked Falling Guillotine to The Lament for my warlock. I'm definitely gonna try it out on my other guardians when I get it. It looks like an amazing sword with a lot of utility. (Plus, it's also a chainsaw. Enough said.)
Amazing video 👌🏽
Excellent content, you've earned a sub.
Is it possible to get guillotine from world drops?
And again no catalyst. Jesus Christ, at least give exotic weapons kill trackers.
Are you planning on reviewing Ace again?
Dude I love this sword. It's awesome to have an exotic sword viable in end game. Great work on this one the testing was succinct.
In beyond light how do I get falling guillotine
Whoa that shouldnt be easy without testing in the Tribute hall, bungie really need to put back a testing range place because it's a pain in the ass to test weapons, have my support 😏
I love The Lament and the reviews. But I don’t like the mindset that a weapon being exotic is a hindrance. That’s subjective.
Bro props to this guy for replying to every comment I've seen. Keep it up dude
As Phil swift says "now that's a lotta damage" this is fun to use and I love the sounds it makes, however it takes the challenge out of bosses, this will be my main exotic while I level up, but after then it'll go into rotation and I'll go back to erainas vow, jotunn, sweet business, bad juju etc.
Falling win cause you can use witherhoard
Love your video and the points you brought up I feel the orbs generation thing is a little to early to judge considering a catalyst can come out and I do have one more point exotics don’t get sunset lament is eternal
great video
I believe the stacks go to 9 for banshee wail, in addition this sword can also combo in the air, which is very useful against flying enemies. This sword is a witches worst nightmare.
Nicely done you just got me hooked for your informative work on comparing weapons for there pro's and con's. lol ^_^
This is probably the best dps sword for this season. The chain saw when holding guard sounded almost like gears of war when you have to hold the chainsaw weapon to cut enemies x3. I’m hoping in the future they will have the catalyst for it. Very well done on your testing video. I do agree bungie needs to have another tribute hall so testing weapons can be easier. It takes forever now.
Ngl that thumbnail looks sick af. Thanks for all the info I respect you running that lost sector so many times lol
I always love to hear your thoughts. Making to information clear and leaving it up to us to decide, is aces in my book.
Thanks again. BTW: try Karl on nesses, he’s looking for work.
I just want my goldtusk back. Bungie better add some more aggressive and lightweight swords in the future. I know they probably wont but I can dream damnit
How long did y’all take to realize the FGs ornament is a Percy Jackson reference
Waddup bro!!! Just seeing this video great one!!!!! I love BOTH honestly…I use them both for different enemies though
Its basically the new gjallorhorn
With how much Damage The Lament does, i could only use it as much as Falling Guillotine at PvE Content where enemies can destroy me in Seconds Solo which lets me use Falling Guillotine plus Guns that would help with the DPS against other ranged enemies. Although for Overloads, The Lament deals with them better.
The fact Lamat can hit airborne targets should be factored in too. Excellent job btw 👌🏻
Cool video 😉😎
Nice video! Thank you I have both swords and i was wondering this question. Great job.
Tried out the Lament in Gambit for the first time today… BOY was it nuts. Another guy was hitting the primevil with FG. We killed it in about 15 seconds. Full banshee's wail with the heavy attack by itself took out roughly 16% of the Prime's health with the prime Slayer x2 and I'm only at the soft cap for light level!
its kinda funny how we thought guillotine was still better for sustained dps and lament still blows it out of the water
Great video my guy. I’m a little late on this one. Giving the changes for both lament and the falling being nerfed. What are your thoughts on black talon with catalyst at the moment?
I just got the lament a few hours ago. Have been using falling guillotine for a few weeks now. The one i own has tireless blade on it as well.
It's a real beaut. I tried using the lament in a nightfall but i couldn't get used to not having legendary kinetic or energy weapons. I'll have to practice with it a bit to get the hang of it i guess but even then i think the guillotine will serve me better in the long run.
Thanks for the great vid tho. I automatically thought the exotic was gonna be better no matter what but you opened up my eyes 😅
Hi
They both look utterly absurd. They could one shot Riven and I still wouldn't use either of them . Seriously, chainswords are a stupid idea to begin with, and out of all the possible Warhammer 40k weapons to mimic, they had to pick that one? They couldn't have done a power sword or witchblade?
