  1. Man, I really want to like this handcannon, but I just wish players could somehow use the noble rounds on themselves too so it could be a little more viable for solo players without relying on playing with others. Keep up the good work btw 🙂

  2. It's sad, Lumina is one of the best looking handcannons imo and has cool sound design and functionality. I never find myself using it because it's just so outclassed by other exotics and even legendaries. It really is a shame when the lore behind it is so cool, too.

  3. This is why I chose Bad Juju over Lumina, I have to get a kill just for the gun to be useful. To add on already the heavy burden of the gun, every hand cannon out paces the passive play style. Controversial opinion but I think Lumina should have at least kept the mobility but perhaps lose the 150 RoF value? If it were up to me, I would have kept the Lightweight Frame but reduce the damage values to 4 tap just like they did in D1

  4. Your reviews are really good, among the best around (if not the best). I think this is clearly a support weapon, and that aspect should be improved to be worthy, maybe activate the healing with crits, sth like that.
I'll drop an idea for a review, a sword review, like the bow one, would be cool. Although I think there is a clear winner, the other exotics have some nice things.

  5. I really like the construction of Lumina as a weapon, It's an amazing concept and I'd probably give the highest score on an innovative weapon design, that being said……. it could be better.
I don't think it's bad to run regular strikes with but in 1220/1250 Nightfall, it really falls off potential wise, but if you are co-ordinating with friends it does do well. (I know cause I still think playing with Well Of Radiance and Lumina makes me a support warlock).
PVP, I kinda want to exclude from the conversation, I don't think Lumina was made with PVP in mind but I wish more exotics were like this, I don't think every exotic produced needs to be made with PVP in mind or vice versa.
So in conclusion, awesome design, mechanically and physically (I still think it's one of the prettiest hand cannons), but in PVP with the TTK being what it is currently, it's just a 140 HC that kinda does nothing but would love to see more guns with a "support" perk.

And always love the video and breakdown!

  7. ok in my opinion lumina is a great weapon for helping your allies with a buff in pve, making you feel like a support chatacter, and in pvp, the gun itself is solid. however my biggest gripe with the gun is that Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

  8. The damage increase is actually 35% if your numbers are correct. 20 percent increase on precision would be 3,352 (rounded up) and body would be 2,234 (rounded down). Sorry. I respect what you’re doing. It’s just if I see numbers I gotta work them myself and knew from looking at them it just wasn’t 20% off the bat.

  9. If your reaction time is amazing, and your setup is good, i found it good way in competitive to use it. Say a teamate is getting rushed after getting a kill in s fire fight, healing them gives you and a teamate a super fast way of getting back into a fight you should be loosing.

  10. I dusted it off last week – was running it in the Nightfall with Well. Used it for my unstoppable rounds. I have a lot of fun using it and love how it performs. Call me weird but I struggle with Thorn and Ace but love Lumina and Malfeasence.

  11. I havent touched it once since it was dropped to a 140. I still think they need to change how the buff procs. If you received the buff on picking up the remnants instead of having to hip shoot a teammate it would be 1000% more useable. Great review!

  12. Firstly, I love the image you've taken on the gun. Not actually seen it that up close. And man the gun is one of the most gorgeous guns. I also love the heroic themed song to it. Not sure if you've done it in the past but, a nice touch ;-).

Also really liked that you'd mentioned that in pve you'd get a steady stream of ads and so you can almost auto-reload it an so it's super fun in pve. Get the buff, get dmg and no need to reload. Also interesting that the guns perk is kinda diminished as we have more ways to get dmg buff which is normally 20%.

It was great when it came out moreso in pve and now in the pve content probably not so much. You'd made some interesting tidbits of comments on the gun which I really liked and I think that's why I really like your reviews. You seem to find a few cracks that are great points.

Keep up the great work dude!! 😉

  13. I use it even in solo content. The design, the sound it makes as you shoot, that lovely bell-like sound it does when you ADS. It's great. I don't feel as comfortable with other weapons that are better on paper (looking at you Steady Hand). As a mid-tree Dawnblade, not needing to use the grenade to heal in order to trigger Benevolent Dawn gives you the option to use your grenade offensively. Add your Sunbracers and you'll be the best Sunsinger you never knew you wanted to be.

  14. Could you talk about symmetry? With how the meta has slowed down I think symmetry could be a fantastic weapon with its built in stall break. It would also be nice to see how it compares to trustee.

  15. The Lumina
Cuz sometimes, you gotta share some Light in those trying times of Darkness.
As a person who does like the role of a support, I always liked the gun. And with the recent addition of anti-champion mods being put into the armor, I can run it in 1250 nightfalls without a problem. Just have to use the nobles a bit more sparingly, as it's a bit harder to kill the ads, and other guys just mowing down everyone doesn't help, and I can offset the lack of ability to heal yourself with the protective light mod and a build that lets me get 4 stacks of charged with light easily. I can then just pop a noble whenever it's time to melt a champion or damage the boss, or if I see someone under heavy fire. Sure, there is a lot of ways to up one's damage nowadays as you said, but Lumina is the only one that can provide it literaly on demand easily. Not much of a PvP person so I can't say much there, but I can tell that it's a good choice for Gambit. Tons of ads, tons of situations where you can use your nobles, be it to melt that High Value or blocker, or to protect the runner from the invader, and it's a solid gun on it's own to get them motes from reds and oranges, especialy with the auto reload.
No matter how the story goes with the Darkness invasion, there is always some Light we can carry on our hip

  16. I picked this up from ciosk a few days ago. Need to spend some time with it but initial impressions are meh at best. Super useful in pve in life limited situations but that’s about it for me. As you said there are legendary 140s that I would equip over this one. Great vid as usual dude 👌🏻

  17. This game has always been about, YOU finding creative ways to use it in your load out. Some are awesome, others are only good on paper. My two cents? The tend seems to be to use what makes playing the game with minimum effort. Basically, stop being lazy. Lumina is a good exotic.
    Another great breakdown.

  19. I friggin' love Lumina. Feels great to use, has some of the best lore in the game, meshes really well with the idea I have for my Warlock as a flame-wielding healer, I just wish it gave you something for using it. Noble Rounds already seek allies super tightly, I'd love if rounds that hit the floor or walls left a (much?) weaker variation of Grace's Blessing grenade instead of bouncing. It would give the gun a use in solo play and outside of strikes and maybe some crucible modes. You also don't get remnants unless you get the killing blow, which holds you back even in peak Lumina content since people can steal kills even if you hit first.

As it is, I run it every now and then, but I tend to use Ace since I get all the benefits of Lumina except healing, but I can spawn Warmind Cells, which can heal me and my teammates with Fireteam Medic and/or Sheltering Energy.

  20. Lumina should have also stayed 150 rpm to encourage use in pvp. I use it with middle tree dawnblade in pve and, along with my rifts and healing grenades, I can heal allies (edit: and myself) pretty much on-demand
