  1. Token system with a chance of RNG. that way you are working towards something still.. this is how they did it before but these developers wanted to extend the "total time played" so they scraped the tokens.

  2. They need to be changed for rewards and need changes to the design itself. Just making them 'harder' in ways that aren't engaging won't get players interested. GM nightfalls are just making strikes a 'legendary halo mission'. Destiny is supposed to be an MMO-esque looter shooter… so why are we relying on Halo?

  3. I went back to D1 and tried leveling up gear, to remember why I dislike it. Unfortunately with sunsetting, leveling gear would be be even worst. Maybe in terms of masterworking, sure, but with how guns operate in D2: such a system isn't a good idea.

  4. They should make it so you are guaranteed rewards of s certain level and amount but not completely tied down. So like you either get 2 ascendant shards or 25 enhancement prisms or cores. It would be interesting if they create a custom loot box system. So lets say you use this item like the chalice from opulence and you tell it that you want this gun with these rolls and then it has a point system. For every strike you complete you get like 1 point them the nightfalls give more and the gm nf gives the most. At every weekly reset you go to zavala hand this thing in and he gives you rewards based on your points and what you selected but its not a guarantee you get what you exactly asked for like the chalice in menagerie. you could have a system like this for zavala, shaxx, saint and the drifter.

  5. Basically an argument for sunsetting. I like it.

GMs need to be guaranteed. Pit is. You can dismantle a MW armor 3 times a week and have enough prisms for a shard to MW a new piece. And you can run in sooooo mucb easier.

  6. If amour had the ornament challenges from the first year of destiny 2 back i think that would go a long way to make the difficult grind mean someting in the world. i can't remember the last time i saw another guardian and was like "Wow that guy has the vanguard commander gear on, they must be a bad ass in strikes"

  7. I think it would be cool if Grandmaster exotic drops could drop in the 70’s base stat, and are guaranteed to do so. Maybe up to like 75 so when you get those 75 Stat Transversives with insane recovery you still have that “Hell yeah I got Anarchy” kind of feeling even though you’re guaranteed fantastic exotics already

  8. I personally really like the copper, silver, gold, plat reward system in theory. Currently it seems very inconsistent between getting a gold or plat(ik it supposed to be all champs , and the idea that if you kill a boss too fast so that the champions that would spawn in the boss room don't means you miss a plat kind of sucks. Also shards are really the only hard thing to get, so anything other than a platinum reward kind of feels like a waste of time. I would think gm rewards would be great if gold = 1 shard everytime, and plat = 2 shards every time. Only checking champions that end up spawning into the strike as part of the reward criteria would help with consistency as well.

  9. I think the whole progression system for armor could be streamlined, removing a lot of the RNG after you get the item. The grind and RNG to get the drop is already pretty substantial, I don't think there needs to be a huge time/resource investment into the item to make it competitive after that.

  10. Sry but I don't quite get it, you are asking for clear and guaranteed rewards from nightfalls right? But isn't that isn't that exactly what we have? You get a guaranteed acandant shard with a chance of getting two and I think a guaranteed exotic (or at least a 90% chance) plus you also get enhancement prisms. What else exactly do you want? We already have decent to good places for great legendary armour rolls and God roll weapon farms, sure maybe a cosmetic would be nice but that doesn't sound like what you where asking for. The only other thing I could come up with is new/better exclusive wepons

  11. Big thing that would revive strikes is Strike-exclusive gear. Seems like it was canned for no reason- just a lack of dev time and incentive. That and gear leveling- particularly weapon leveling- would be great. It shouldn't take as long or be as expensive because that would likely de-incentivize experimenting with new weapons, but a little bit of investment would make the loot grind more engaging. Nothing big. Even if its just like 100-200 kills with a weapon fully levels it. You can knock that out in 5-10 minutes and you've gotten a feel for the weapon doing it.

  12. I got two umbral engrams after completing gm corrupted. Worked my ass off with my team for 6 hours with strategies. So guaranteed rewards no matter what would be nice

  13. I think it’s not necessarily the rewards which is a def a part of it but it’s literally the dumb artifact. Every season it forces to run x guns so that you use those mods. It only respects two weapons, izinagi and divinity. Good luck not using those but bungie can’t force you to choose x weapons for the mods, disruption, piercing, etc…

  14. The framework of progression in D2 right now is far too unimpactful, all you’re realistically chasing in GM nightfalls is high stat armor and that’s not even guaranteed for what’s supposed to be the most difficult 3 man content in the game?

Endgame is not getting a couple exotics, few titles, some high stat armor and that’s it? Just so you can keep running the same level of difficulty based content. An unquestionable sense of increasing challenge and discovery is central to all RPG’s and MMO’s. But D2 platues too quickly once you reach a certain amount of hours in the game.

Even if you get your dream build together and then what? You might be able to run endgame content more effectively but the rewards themselves are not even going to be worth your time. There needs to be an element of exclusivity to the rewards of running the hardest content in the game and a degree of player agency that ensures good loot.
That’s literally why the formula of menagerie worked so well; player agency.

Or atleast a worthwhile way of investing all the material you gather from grinding that content, i.e leveling or upgrading gear in an impactful and noticeable way. The progression is still based on the growth of your account/guardian, the ambigious mastery of difficult content, titles, cosmetic chase and power levels for what? Running harder content that doesn’t even have loot that’s appropriate or aligned with the difficulty of the activity. The existing armor and weapons are not powerful or unique enough to warrant that kind of investment, especially with sunsetting. With that in mind, the diceroll reward structure just doesn’t work and isn’t enjoyable for content that’s as difficult as GM Nightfalls.

The problem with super powerful loot is also that it has to work well in PvP and PvE respectively. If things could be balanced separatly in pvp and pve, we would be in a much different place rn with sunsetting etc but due to how PVP was an afterthought in destiny; The integration of pvp into the world of destiny comes off broken, messy and full of cheaters, which in turn contributes to the watered down reward structure we’ll have to do with now. Because Bungie tried to introduce powerful weapons in an unbalanced game.

  16. Have conquerer…..was a small thrill to do it..this season it feels pointless….I know I can do it if I want to,but more masterwork mats ain’t it chief…….already maxed constantly..want mats? Farm master on any week……get max in one day…..so what’s the point if gms? if there were a low drop chance weapon or something good then maybe

  17. It would be awesome if bungie gave us nightfall specific loot like The cursed when it's the nightfall you have a chance of getting a baller pulse rifle that only drops from that strike when it's the nightfall so if bungie gave us strike specific loot for completing GM difficulty, then that would give people more incentive to farm out the GM version as well as bungie making it to where that gear doesn't sunset so it's always relevant

  18. Hot Take. I never liked any of the hard content that made use of slapping modifiers on an activity. Not heroic menagerie, not grandmaster nightfalls, not even the D1 Nightfalls. I like raids, I like dungeons. But all this modify stuff has always felt awful to me.

  19. I personally would like the idea of a guaranteed roll on a GM Nightfall, but i think more so would enjoy if Bungie were to add more and interesting loot pools for all activities across the board.
I think if we had an armor set to work towards for each strike, or nightfall or whatever it would give players more of an incentive to farm that location or event. Even things like having a guaranteed gun loot pool or armor set loot pool, and then have an extremely rare drop of like and exotic ghost shell or sparrow would be awesome.
