Destiny 2: Season Of The Hunt Is Heavy On Story, Light On Gameplay So Far

Destiny 2 has rolled out Season of the Hunt content as of this week, spacing it out from Beyond Light a little bit. We now have access to Wrathborn Hunts and a new loot pool, but while the story developments are huge, the content itself is…not so much. At least not yet.

  1. yeah if bungie wont acknowledge what they released way to little content and show that they can deliver this is the last dlc im partaking, im no longer clinging to the idea of what destiny could be

  2. A surprise would have been nice. I’m finding the current game more tedious than fun. After god knows how many years that’s not a surprise, just how time works

  3. I’ve been reading your articles for years on Forbes. Today I clicked on your most recent article and a pop up stated that I had reached my limit of free articles? When did Forbes start charging to read articles that you write?I’ve literally been reading them for years and I’ve never seen this before. I’m pretty shocked. Do you know about this?

  4. Bungie said seasonal activities will stick around for the entire year so at least we know Crow will stay with the spider at least until next fall. Maybe after that he’ll come to the tower.

  5. The submachine gun is horrible. I had Exit Strategy in my inventory and the side by side comparison was laughable. But I mean, β€œthe Crow” ….really? Is this as creative as people get? Crow, Spider? Next up Dog, Cat, Moose and Fred.

  6. Wait, I'm caught up game/season story wise, but must have missed that Sagira blew herself up. Why didn't she just revive Osiris if he was to be murdered? Doesn't make much sense. I'm actually not a fan of this story line because it completely erases the entire Osiris DLC. As a writer myself, I just don't get it.

You really think it's simply because the voice actress became unavailable?

  7. Hi Paul! I didn't know you had a YouTube channel. I've been reading your articles online about D2 under Google News for awhile, though. They're really informative and have helped a bunch. Thanks!

  8. The trail was so hard to find for me because im color blind but I eventually figured out the different locations and I just wander around until I trip over the mission thing. I gotta say the loot is super lack luster. I wouldnt mind the things we are doing if it was at least for decent loot. Really missing all my HCs I left behind that got sunset without any replacements in sight πŸ™

  9. I really like the Wrathborn Hunt system as a compliment to the activities we already have. It's a nice breather for when you're grinding strikes or pvp or what have you to be able to stop, go kill a thing real quick to collect some loot, then get back to what you were doing. I think this system fits really neatly as an "in-between" for our core activities.

The problem, then, is that… well, it's an "in-between" activity! This isn't really sufficient as an activity to carry an entire season. I certainly like it, and it'd be nice if we could get something like this that's a little more permanent, so this kind of feature could persist past the end of this season, but looking at it as THE loop for the season? Man, that is ROUGH. If they don't release something else, or some way to beef it up, I honestly have no idea how they expect this to hold our attention for the whole season…

  10. More like 3 Gambit, Crucible or 2-3 Strikes (for a solo player). It slows down playing. Too Grindy. The SMG is pretty strong, but it is a lot of work for so minimal a loot drop. The Lure is just so silly. Dark Engrams were more fun.

  11. It is strange how simple the hunts are. And the randomness of farming is unfortunate as well. Who wants to do playlist stuff and then you can't even go for the weapon you want.

  12. the problem is its 1 = 1… with skeleton keys being 1 = 5… farm for mats then grind for loot this is missing because your locked out of having multiple drops.

  13. Light on gameplay if your sweaty and play six hours a day. I've been playing for like an hour or two each day because I actually have a life and I've just finished the story with my warlock, let alone starting wrathborn hunts.
