Bungie was at (virtual) Gamescom to show off even more footage from Destiny 2’s Beyond Light expansion, once again focused on Stasis. The subclasses and supers have been revealed, and after the show, additional information was shared about the new elemental power. Going through it all.

  1. Misconception here
    Stasis isnt ice
Ice is the result of stasis
Light powers are essentially based on increasing energy abd complexity
Darkness is the opposite and is about reducing energy and complexity
As a resukt when you remove all energy from matter any object or being would be frozen solid at absolute zero
The ice is just what happens when you lock said things into place

  2. To be honest, outriders just might win out for me over Beyond Light. I'm hopeful for this DLC, but honestly I'll need to see something really new in order for it to be worth buying on day 1.

  3. The expansion is looking absurdely lackluster so far, and all the three new subclasses will seem somewhat bland if they only have these 3 modes available, unlike the other ones that have 3 different modes each (technically 3, 2 on paper)

However, i still need to see how it will play out, because it also feels like stasis is going to change the gameplay everywhere drastically, far more than people are anticipating. It won't be about being broken or not, because it will be influential regardless. Maybe now bungie will create bigger battles more often since everyone has the tools to control the battlefield, i wonder how their encounter design will change in the future? Maybe we may go away from only bringing DPS and start worrying more about add-control and mechanics, which would be something i would like.

There's still much to discuss for a final veridict, but so far, it's flopping hard.

  4. Hunters smoke granade and Titans void granted already supresses enemies to the point where can't move or utilise abilities so I truly don't see this braking crucible or the game is just another form but now is available to all three classes so people don't start being little babys and adjust to the new micanics.

  5. Lore wise, Stasis is the process of removing energy or light from oneself., which is akin to Absolute Zero kelvin. Either way the ice is a result of how energy is reduced to the minimum and it’s just the environment attempting to compensate for that lacking.

  6. Hey Paul, out of curiosity, who is going around saying girls can’t be samurai? I read your article about a Tsushima sequel and I was curious as to where you got this from.
