In this video I’ll be reviewing the new exotic grenade launcher Salvation’s Grip that was recently released in Destiny 2 Beyond Light. Well take a look at the weapons stats and general functionality before taking it into some PvE environments to analyze it’s performance.

First stasis gun? I wonder how others would work.
What's your take on Salvation's Grip? I like the direction Bungie's taking with this exotic, but I just can't find where it fits in……yet!
Can you please do a pvp review. It's really fun to use!
i love this thing but i dropped a we ran yesterday with no time to explain so i dont wanna unequip it lol
I also think that this thing could've been better as a special, or hell, even a legendary. We've seen one off grenade launcher archetypes before (Martyr's Retribution) and this thing could've been a dope Stasis Frame launcher (or whatever name they decided to give it).
BTW, before starting the video, I wanna know if you also feel like stasis is pay to win
I think it's compelty broken, and shouldn't be nerfed, but should have its own separated gamemode (sorry if I already told you that, I forgot where I talked about that already ^^')
Its so simple in design but when combined with the stasis subclass it can be something really really useful in certain situations, I love it 😀
Dude I wish I could sub more than once. Your videos are awesome its impressive you have all the time for editing and still work a trade. I'm also a builder. Keep up the great work buddy I'll be watching all your videos and liking them.
It's basically an extension to the stasis abilities rather than big damage weapon. I kinda like it but it's hard to find a spot outside of PvP unless you use it similar to support/backup in a team.
I don't have it yet, but I don't even really want it at all. Unfortunately it's needed for a quest. As soon as I get it and finish the quest, it's getting turned into scrap. Of course, can't deny utility, but it's just doesn't fit my "turn everything in my way to dust" mentality.
Awesome review btw 👌
Thank you for the review Ironworker. I wondered if I was the only one who was underwhelmed by SG. With heavies like Xenophage in the game, it is difficult to make a good case for using this. It really needs a damage buff. What it really needs is a redesign. IMO, the entire stasis class is pretty weak (this only applies to the Warlock as it is the only one I have unlocked). Given the tedious grind, I don't think I will be equipping my Hunter and Titan with stasis.
I gave this thing a try, and…yeah. Pretty much agree with all of your points. However, I do wanna say that maybe they intended it as a way of having Stasis when running a Light-based subclass? Sure, it gets benefits from the Stasis upgrades, but having Stasis while having something that contributes to the team effort, like Well, could have more use than Stasis + Salvation
In Trials I can see this being used to get crazy angles…I also just saw a 10 second super in PVE just by chaining the freezing so give it some time and we'll see what this community does with it.
You should check out Sturm it feels really good to me rn
I like this because if you have a teammate using stasis warlock you can freeze everything and then the warlock can just spam the shatter with their super
Does anybody know how to re aquire this weapon? I accidentally scrapped it and now i cant finish that other quest
I couldn't find a practical use for this weapon aside from freezing the darkness shards. I haven't used it very long though.
I watched the whole ad also great video you just earned yourself a new sub
Could you do a review on The Adored?
Late to the party. I went into crucible for the 1st time last night and I loved stasis in pvp. This weapon is meh, feel like it has potential but I'm not in love with it.
Can you do a review on strum in this sandbox it is soooooo god.The range is absolutely crazy
It's certainly unique and it adds to stasis if you're all in for freezing enemies. But since it's an exotic, I need something much more hard hitting if I'm going to sacrifice an exotic slot. It works more in a fireteam with one person running Salvation and the others running something that will shatter the stasis holds.
i feel the same way about this exotic weapon, it feels so pointless even for a stasis related build. i think bungie needs to buff the ammo for Salvation's Grip because i feel like it needs more because it feel more like a gun for platforming than a gun that is meant for destroying ads. i do like the idea of this gun but it just feels a little more underwhelming to use compare to most heavy exotics
If you have a shatter ability you can run through ads and majors
I know it's purpose you can freeze Target with a light subclass
This season it pairs with the focusing lense mod I guess.
I remember it being said in Destiny 1 that exotics weren't meant to be inherently superior to legendries, but rather "different". So legendary guns were fairly standard, while exotics were supposed to be roughly on par or slightly better, but they had gimmicks and did weird or unique things. With that philosophy this certainly is "exotic", so it fits that class well, but is another unfortunately underwhelming exotic that makes it seem like "why are we still limited to 1 exotic weapon at a time?".
It looks heavy, but it doesn't really have "heavy weapon energy" when used, which is a shame really. Probably would've been more viable if it were special, it's sort of a stasis witherhoard in it's area denial.
"I don't think there is any reason to use a light based subclass with this thing."
Season of the Chosen: Are you sure about that?
Welp….
Thanks for the review
I know im late to this video but; I really liked the idea behind it when I saw the trailer showing off the gun. If only it wasn't heavy I'd use it more for fun. Maybe it's catalyst turns the gernade to the coldsnap gernade and can chain to three more enemies and killing them returns a bullet or 2? Might become a great crowd control heavy if thats the case.
That lord of wolves at 0:06 was a warning and we ignored it
