Beyond Disappointing | Destiny 2: Beyond Light is More of the Same from Bungie (Beyond Light Review)

In this video I give my opinion and impressions of the Destiny 2 expansion, Beyond Light. Unfortunately it’s just more of the same rinse and repeat content from Bungie, a developer that now delivered more disappointment than anything else at this point of the Destiny Franchise’s life cycle.

  1. Yeah I agree with you, the gameplay loop is horrible but at the same time it's how the game is designed, for them to change that it would take a lot of effort. Effort that I dont think they would actually put into the game. I recently came back to beyond light after taking pretty much a 2 year break and forsaken being the last thing I played. I came back on pc with my characters and it's been really fun, even did the raid and everything. So far I am enjoying it a lot but I do get that gnawing feeling when I start doing bounties and dailies to level up your power. Overall enjoyed the video!

  2. Already deinstalled it months ago. Tried it for two hours again (without buying the "expansion") and deinstalled it again.
D1:AoT was the best time and shoukd have been the end of Destiny. D2 is even worse than the worst time of D1. It's sad all those fantastic skyboxes and hand built worlds are wasted on game designers who have no idea how to create a game.

  3. I wish I could live in this world that everyone else seems to be living in where destiny "use" to be a good game and had good content. From where I'm standing that haven't made one spec of decent content with the price they sold it for.

  4. One thing that is bothering me is…all those planets are gone,,and yet banshee still requires elements from those planets ,to purchase upgrade modules …also it seems to me they only put two drop points on Europa on purpose…and they very close together, but not close to anything else….spend a ton of time running around on the sparrow…seems to me like a tactic to extend play time..

  5. Sucker punch gave us a raid PLUS 4 player survival mode, 2 player co-op missions and 4 classes with new gear, enemies, ect for FREE! monster hunter world/iceborne also gave us more free content than bungie does in paid dlc 😧 people need to wake up and stop rewarding bungie for being lazy, greedy gits

  6. Ah destiny. The game that forgot it was a game. You pay for a lackluster set of content which is only carried by the art team for the most part (Lore is hit or miss from person to person. I personally dislike it's lore they just never do anything with it or we get to play the most boring part of it.) I still get confused why they think adding more grind is what the players want. The community I think generally dislikes the light grind it's rather pointless. It's not why people played; grinding light level was frustrating and felt like it would belong in a free to play game. Personally I feel that the price on this expansion is gouging the player base that is probably going to nose dive this year due to a lack of anything worth while. So I would not be surprised if the next DLC also costs 40$ and has the same level of content as Warmind… And my opinion on the sunsetting was just of shear laziness as they can't be bothered to balance the game anymore. I honestly feel like the game should have two separate balance patches for pvp and pve. As this is know in all MMO's and Bungie don't listen that they should never balance pvp the same as pve. Every MMO typically lists separate dmg and stats for all abilities in pvp if they try to be competitive. But hey Bungie don't listen. So long story short think the game is going to die in two years if it survives it's only due to buyers remorse at this point.

  7. As much as I love Destiny I am pretty certain it can not be legal to lock behind a wall content that I as a consumer had originally paid £80 to £100 for. I first bought all the Red War content and expansions as a sold product of Activision. This is seriously a step too far by a developer that I have now lost complete respect for. They are simply making us repay for content that many had already paid for on release when Destiny 2 was not a free-to-play game. This should not be happening and this demonstrates everything that is wrong with gaming today. Pure GREED.

  8. As of the release of the Beyond Light expansion all original Destiny 2 content including the Red War campaign and the 2 expansions released with the originally released Destiny 2 game when Bungie was with Activision are now locked in the so-called vault. I am pretty certain that Bungie are acting against consumer rights of purchase. Basically I have spent £80 to £100 on a game that came with a campaign and 2 expansions and I have now been denied any access of what I have physically paid for. This 100% demonstrates everything that is wrong with live service games today. Game developers think they can decide as and when content is available even when it has already been fully paid for and then they think they can repackage it and make us pay for it again. Destiny 2 is not a free-to-play game. Bungie simply keep repackaging it and re-selling it under different names. Personally I think it is criminal what they are doing and I've lost all respect for Bungie, and they should certainly be held accountable for what they are doing. Pure GREED.

  10. Destiny 2 is going into maintenance mode. Once they get Arc, Solar and Void converted to the new Stasis style they'll begin to shift resources to the new game they announced they're developing. Next few DLC's will be the planets coming back one at a time with small amounts of content being dribbled out. Between the planets and seasons, they'll keep it going until the new game releases.
