Ascendant Nomad released a very well thought out video regarding some ideas he had to change the way we look at crucible. Much of it was very well done but there are a few points that he knowingly swept under the rug, today I have a solution to some of his points…

  1. I honestly disagreed with a lot of what Nomad said, but your solutions to where I disagreed was a very great solution. I do think one thing that seemed extreme though, was the amount of Ascendant shards from ranks that Nomad mentioned.

  2. Enjoyed the video, only thing I don't think was ever properly critiqued by you or ascendant nomad, is of we split every survival gamemode into different ranks, how are you supposed to hit legend, in 6 different game modes? In 1 season? If we did that then the seasonal reset would have to be re worked, because hitting legend every season takes me Damm near half the season to do. Besides that, like I said the video was great. Only other critique is the control top .1% flex. It's hard for people who don't play with you to know your a good player, but I don't think you've solo que'd in who knows how long. It's just something that comes off meh.

  3. Regardless of what you agree or disagree with, the important thing here is we've started a good conversation. This is how good things get accomplished.

Also, that match was one of my favorites in a very long time. God that was a good run

  4. solid video I'm not a hardcore crucible player so I don't really have any critique but I do like a lot of the ideas thrown out that would make the experience less bland and more rewarding.

  5. Good ideas, I agree with many of the points that you make. As for the competitive Queue starvation issue, I think that having at least three modes (For example: Skirmish, Elimination, and a rotator which could have survival countdown or showdown.) would be a suitable fix to the issue. For further clarification, the rotator would have the same ranking ladder as the other two and wouldn't change when the game modes where rotated out (Lets say each week or whenever they do rotate). Three playlists should be a small enough number to prevent Queue starvation.

Also, something to combat the Sunk Cost fallacy would be the ornaments that Nomad described. These, in theory, would be enough to override human persistence because each offers their own rewards that are different. These rewards could be further enhances by means of competitive adepts specific to each playlist. For example, lets say skirmish offers Lord High Fixer (Adept) this weapon would drop with random rolls after every match win past lets say 3500 glory in that playlist. This could be a good way of keeping player engagement high while also providing reasons to play each separate playlist.

Finally, Something that needs to be addressed is Skill-Based Match-Making (Or SBMM). This is a huge problem in survival right now because players who reach 5500 can often find themselves playing against those who mare just barely breaching Fabled (2100). This happens because Bungie's SBMM leaves much to be desired. If instead, matches where made based on Glory (ex. 2100 can match with 2000-2200) it would offer a chance for players to see that they are improving instead of bonking their heads on the metaphorical skill ceiling that is reinforced by Lag, Cheese, and bad connections. This would be further enforced by Nomad's system where Glory can stack indefinitely, and these high skill matches would be extremely fun (at least for me). Thanks for reading, Peace.

  6. Glad to see your channel grow and everything, but I doubt anyone is going to collab with you. A ton of your videos come off as too arrogant. Not a lot of people want to work with that. I subscribed at a time when content came from a more humble place that made me feel like I was valued as a viewer because of my contribution as a part of the community, not because I get you closer to more money. It's just grown too obvious that money/pseudo-fame are the prime motivators. Not trying to be a douche, I just want to share my experience.

  7. What if they added a King of the Hill type mode, where there's one control point and every minute or so it rotates to another position? Or a Juggernaut mode where one player is a literal Hive Knight with a sword and everyone has to try to kill them?

I know that the ideas are ripped straight from Halo but come on how cool would they be in Destiny? Also-

  8. add a all chat for matchmaking only in casual not comp though to make the games less serious and more chill, nerf snipers to nothing, tune the other subclasses so its more than just cold this winter, get rid of exotics and 3rd person views for comp and have ways to fix bullshit weapon RNG and armor RNG (permanently change rolls on the guns and allow permanent stat changes to gear and not having to grind for that one perfect roll, cause its fucking annoying) I don't play destiny anymore and I don't think this is a ship that can be saved, but these are what annoyed me the most and I hope you guys can prove me wrong.

  9. Mixtape queue is something I was also thinking of and it would've been the first thing I commented if you hadn't mentioned it (and i guess it still was).

I think rather than having the Crucible be separated in 3 sections (Casual / Competitive / Labs), it should be separated just as Casual and Comp. As I think the Mixtape queue might work better when you're picking from all the Valor or Glory modes together, rather than separate pages for the Casual and Labs modes.

Having Labs and Casual be in the same Mixtape pool might even give the Labs modes that little bit of extra life they need. Now, that would be totally pointless if the Mixtape allowed you to mix from all 3 sections, which I don't think would happen. Like, who would want to have a 50/50 of either Mayhem or Comp, you know? But I guess it allows some form of creativity, if that's how you see it.

Even if the Mixtape queue doesn't get added, we could still use some extra game modes. The current rotating playlist seems a bit dry rn and since only one playlist rotates, there would still be some amount of players playing it. Hell, even if players aren't playing the new modes, atleast it gives people the opportunity to spice up their private games.

  10. Note on the divisible by three rule: gambit doesn't follow this rule, I don't see why crucible has to. The counters you brought to the table just don't seem to happen. The pros seem to have it here over cons.

  11. Ideas, but it is also at Shaxx's Lodge
    =Legendary Heavy Weapon=
    1) Legendary rarity Iron Battleaxe (Any Class, Heavy Weapon): Basically the weapon is gonna be like D1 RoI Iron Battleaxe but now useable.
    =Exotic Heavy Weapon/Artifact=
    2) Exotic rarity Iron Battlestaff (Hunter Class, Heavy Weapon/Artifact): Alters the Gunslinger subclass with using the Staff more in Melee/Grenade abilites as well as the Super. Melee ability attack is Extending the Staff then Retracting and the Grenade has you throw the Staff like a polearm and when it lands, it will expand/widen then shrink/revert and vanish back to you. Blade Barrage variant will have you leap in the air then extending/retracting for 3 seconds to foes below while Golden Gun vairants is using the staff but more Sun Wukong in terms of cheekyness.
    3) Exotic rarity Iron Sword (Warlock Class, Heavy Weapon/Artifact): Alters the Dawnblade subclass with even more Sword based attacks more, the style of the sword will be like Sephiroth's long sword. The Melee ability attack will turn Top and Bottem tree into a slash that goes as far as the Nerfed Stasis melee ability or as long as Sephiroth's sword is and the Middle Tree is a charge forward with a stab that will push back opponents. Grenade might not be as changed as much since my imagination is somewhat based on what I see, but maybe grenades that is used at your location and does not damage you, but buffs you and allies while damaging enemies. Top and Bottem tree super variant is literally instead of throwing Fireballs from a sword, you go much faster but with sword as long as Sephiroth's sword.
    4) Exotic rarity Iron Battleaxe (Titan Class, Heavy Weapon/Artifact): Alters Sunbreaker subclass to a giant Battleaxe basically, top and bottem tree super is Nova Bomb, but with a Giant Axe thrown while Middle tree is running around executing enemies.

    Edit:
Hunters be like Sun Wukong with abusing Extend and Retract to hit enemies
Warlocks become the boss as Sephiroth
Titans be using Iron Battleaxe but more explosions and a solar nova bomb with a cracked version of the Legendary rarity Iron Battleaxe

  12. Loved the mix tape in Titanfall2, such a good game. There does need to be some type of carrot achievable by most people not just pvp mains.

I think something does need to be done about comp, as unless you're going for unbroken, which most pvp mains have had for a while now, theres really nothing there. Perhaps an adept weapon for hitting say 4000 glory and adept mod for hitting 5500.

But you could flip it and say after so many valor resets you get the same weapon and mod.
