Elsie Bray’s Dark Future has been known about since Beyond Light. Most of its events have been averted thanks to our Guardians intervention. A big part of that book though is Eris Morn and her work with Savathun and the Darkness to destroy the Last City. Today we are going to explain the dark future and if it’s coming true with Eris Morn’s transformation into a Hive God.

I wonder what’ll happen to Eris, I feel like it’s going to be a ton of work to return her to her normal form if that’s possible. Maybe she’ll be some kind of boss like the strike where we have to save maras techuen

The timelines run parallel to each other
As others have said, I think our timeline is parallel to the the Dark future's timeline which reflects the times we didn't follow our "Destiny". Taking Eris for example, if we hadn't killed Crota and Oryx she wouldn't have been able to move on from avenging her fallen teammates; if we hadn't forged Xenophage and put her phantoms to rest she wouldn't have moved forward to helping Asher, or found a relationship with the Drifter; actually living. On its surface Revenge and Vengeance are almost the same… but Vengeance is on behalf of someone else, and that means the new hive god of vengeance inherently cares about her flock.

The fact that this happened in another timeline means it won't happen exactly the same way in ours. But… There are many rivers of time. Some coalesce. Others don't. It's key to know more than you should. All of my detractors in one place.
But we do exist in the dark timeline, Elsie even says guardians were corrupted by darkness, and that," you were no exception."
Read on the lines "beyound our lies another world…" your real world… you have accepted the darkness in your real wrold…
I think they are setting up a "love conquers all" ending for her. She will go evil with the Hive and Drifter will save her with the power of love. I hope I am wrong.
Dark future cut scene would be awesome to see some day
I already have my Parasite ready to kill Eris and turn her into an Exotic.

I want to see the dark timeline, maybe from a short video or a vision in game, but it sounds so chaotic I want to see it.
I feel like Dark Future and the main timeline are converging on each other. I can’t wait.

We are as close currently to that Dark Future coming to pass, but it's unlikely, too many parameters have changed.
She’s still in the past too as she was seen with everyone else so I wanna know what she thinks about it.
Eris must know, that Hive God of Vengeance or not, Hive Gods (in general) do not survive contact with Guardians, so it will be up to us, to stop her falling into ruin.
i trust eris, she’s had every reason to turn to darkness and destroy humanity but she still serves humanity
