I'm torn on Taniks as the raid boss. It was cool to see him and to hear his theme, but it was very random and felt fan service-y. Plus Taniks the Abomination looked so stupid lmao. I totally fangirled out when my team saw him jump out of his pod, but the more I thought about it, it just seemed random
I was so happy to find this in the files. And I don't think the context it plays in-game could have been any more perfect.
That little Hi-hat thing in the Taniks theme is the greatest thing ever

Why does Taniks have a molten welder? Shouldn't he have a scorch cannon?
I never ever thought I would be listening to shadow thief while crashing into the surface of Europa on space station but I'm so glad I was able to experience it.
Last we saw of Taniks, he was infested with SIVA within and without through his whole being. And yet here he is restored to his prior state. I’m surprised there isn’t even a cosmetic visage of it left on him.

Correct me if I'm wrong but after comparing this model of Taniks to the original it looks like he doesn't have any flesh showing in this version meaning that he was brought back as an Exo. If they explained this in the raid also forgive me because I have not yet properly played it.
Now THIS is my favourite moment of the raid. Looking outside the window to see Europa approaching, ripping off the blast shields until eventually everything is lit up by inferno as the station entered the atmosphere. And when the encounter ends, you run to safety, surviving the crash, and meeting the abomination head on.

we killed taniks, then he came back to life after the fallen gave him new body parts, we killed him again then he got corrupted by the hive, we killed that abomination and then oryx comes in and turns taniks into a taken boi, we kill him again then he is in another mission where he got turned into a taken for a second time, nothing happened for a while until SIVA brought taniks back so we killed him for like the 7th time, then in shadowkeep he turned into one of those weird ghost like bosses so we slaughtered him, and then guess what? he returned into a raid boss and we killed him for what i thought would be the last time, but then he merged himself with a heavy shank and became tanthiccs the dank shank tank engine and we killed him finally for the 9th and final time.
'Shadow Thief'….Feh. [shaking head while memories from 6+ Years of that original Strike began to resurface….]
